The IRB Community Garden, supported community-wide, is located in the Nature Preserve, between 9th and 10th Avenues on Gulf Boulevard, and was developed to provide a neighborly activity for the Indian Rocks Beach community, as well as an opportunity to grow fresh vegetables, herbs and flowers while learning about gardening activities.
The garden is comprised of Earth Boxes purchased and maintained by interested participants who complete a "Community Garden Membership Agreement". Earth Box locations will be on a "first come/first served" basis.
The garden will be accessible to members during the hours of 8:00 a. m. until 9:00 p. m, 7 days a week and 52 weeks a year. Special events will be allowed in the garden upon approval of the City Manager.
Members will provide their own tools for plant maintenance, and must properly attend to and harvest their plants to maintain an aesthetically pleasing garden free of pests and disease. No pest control is allowed on member plants as organic gardening is encouraged.
Automatic watering for Earth Boxes will be provided by the City.
Ms. Trish Burch, is the Community Garden Coordinator, who can be reached at email@example.com or 973.219.4187.
Earth Boxes can be obtained through the Community Garden Coordinator, who will be available to share Earth Box gardening techniques and assist members as necessary.
