REQUEST FOR BID

Sealed bids will be received at the City of Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Rocks Beach City Hall, 1507 Bay Palm Boulevard, Indian Rocks Beach, Fl., 33785, in Pinellas County, until 2:30 PM, on April 16, 2008, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall Conference Room, Indian Rocks Beach for furnishing necessary labor, materials, incidental items, and equipment for the CITY OF INDIAN ROCKS BEACH – BID # P.S.D. 2007/08-02: STORM SEWER REPLACEMENTS ON HARBOR DRIVE AND 12TH AVENUE. Contract Documents may be obtained from Michael A. Schenk, P.E., Keith and Schanrs, PA, 2525 Drane Field Road, Suite 7, Lakeland, FL 33811, UPON PAYMENT OF $55.00 PER SET (NON-REFUNDABLE). Sealed bids must be submitted on Bid forms as provided (or exact copies thereof) marked CITY OF INDIAN ROCKS BEACH – BID # 2007/08-02: STORM SEWER REPLACEMENTS ON HARBOR DRIVE AND 12TH AVENUE for the City of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida.

All bids must be accompanied by a certified check, bank draft, or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid, made payable to the City of Indian Rocks Beach. Which check, bank draft or bid bond shall guarantee that should the bid be accepted, the bidder will, within ten (10) days after the acceptance of his bid, enter into a contract with the City of Indian Rocks Beach for the services proposed to be performed and will at that time furnish performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100 %) of the contract, made payable to the City of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, which bonds shall be adequate to guarantee the faithful performance of the contract.

Bids may be withdrawn prior to the date of opening, but no bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of the opening of bids.

Bids must conform to the specifications and instruction to Bidders. Any deviation from the specifications must be shown. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any technical defects, and to accept any bid which the bidding authority believes to be in the best interest of the City. This request for bids and all bids submitted are subject to the City ordinances.

A person or affiliate who has been placed on the convicted vendor list following a conviction for a public entity crime may not submit a bid on a contract to provide any goods or services to a public entity, may not submit a bid on a contract with a public entity for the construction or repair of a public building or public work, may not submit bids on leases of real property to a public entity, may not be awarded or perform work as a contractor, supplier, subcontractor, or consultant under a contract with any public entity, and may not transact business with any public entity in excess of the threshold amount provided in Section 287.017, for CATEGORY TWO for a period of 36 months from the date of being placed on the convicted vendor list.
